Careers & Pathways

Careers

The Careers Team offers tailored support and guidance to students to ensure their post-secondary pathways are well-informed. They ensure that students receive personalised assistance, information, and education regarding various post-secondary options.

Interactive and informative career-related activities and interviews are conducted for students, supplemented by presentations from guest speakers and excursions aimed at maximising exposure to University, TAFE, and employment opportunities. Year 12 students receive targeted support in preparing for university and TAFE entry, including guidance on tertiary course selection, SEAS and scholarship applications, as well as post-ATAR score preference adjustments.

Detailed records of each student's interaction with the Careers Team are meticulously maintained and regularly reviewed to inform future planning and support initiatives. Additionally, the Careers Team is available for one-on-one meetings with students and parents to address specific needs and explore pathway options.

The Careers Office houses an array of resources including tertiary guides, online career assessments, pamphlets, and worksheets, all aimed at assisting students in their post-secondary decision-making journey.

Career Action Plan

A career action plan helps students identify their interests, strengths and aspirations. They can be used to help students explore their options and consider what they might like to do in their future studies and careers. It’s a working document, and students should review and update it to reflect the career education activities they participate in throughout the year.

Career planning is an essential way schools support young people to explore learning and post-school options.

At each year level, career action plans can support students to make informed subject, course and career decisions appropriate to their year level.

Career action plans are shared with the students’ parents or carers. This supports their engagement in their young person’s career development, which is a key success factor for many students’ effective decision-making.
