Community

Highvale recognises the importance of creating and maintaining this partnership with home. Educational research has shown quite clearly that where parents take an interest in their child’s education and are involved in school activities, the child does better in school.

The school prides itself on its extensive couselling process involving the student, parents and teachers, which gives each student and individual program selected from an extensive elective program implemented through a vertical curriculum structure. Student progress is regularly reviewed and parents kept informed as to how they can assist in the learning program.

Parents, friends and the community are warmly welcomed at Highvale through involvement in College Council, its sub-committees and an active parent support association. A variety of social events during the year including debutante balls, valedictory dinners, formals and other social events promote a positive relationship between our College and its families which contribute to enhance student learning.
